Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens

4.0

Obviously one of Dicken's early novels. Mediocre character development (for the most part) and not as tied-together as his later stuff. However, the writing is light, sarcastic, and thoroughly enjoyable. He was definitely coming from the roots of comedic writing, and the tone shows it. But later novels, like Bleak House or Great Expectations, are much more artfully put together.
