Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes

5.0

This is one of those books that has the inverse effect of the author's intention - to scorn tales of knight errantry. But by its forward-thinking narrative and everyman humour, ultimately ends up romanticising and drawing attention back to these old tales which most would prefer remained in their place of scorn.

The number of iconic scenes in this book is incredible, the knight of the sorrowful countenance is now forever emblazened in my mind.
