A Year at the Chateau by Dick Strawbridge, Angel Strawbridge
4.0
I bought this book having watched Escape to the Chataeu (like most people) and was pleased to find that it wasn't just a repeat of everything in the TV series.
There are lots of details about projects that hadn't been mentioned and lots of extra information about some of the renovations we already knew about.
They also share much more about the family they bought the house from, who are there neighbours.
There's quite a bit of technical info from Dick for those that enjoy that sort of thing.
There are some stories about Dick going hunting, which was slightly disappointing in my opinion and was obviously left out of the TV series to avoid causing controversy.
There are a handful of spelling and grammar mistakes throughout the book, but they don't detract from the story of their first year at the chataeu.
