I just hate a conflict that happens 1 - 3 times over the same topic in the last 30 pages bc it feels like an after-thought
and they still a) have unprotected sex and b) get together at the end. like the fight seems rushed to me, the resolution even quicker, and the makeup sex is a tacky way to add one more spicy scene before the page count requirement is met.
Josh seemed too good to be true as a MMC, like he had literally no flaw. and December was cool at the beginning but I found how she could solve everything also to be a little too perfect for me.
take a shot anytime Josh's mouth "slanted" over hers btw and you'd be tipsy at least. the writing was just a lil' repetitive
I also didn't like some of the more outdated phrases, like Josh saying he already had his trophy, when getting December in his arms. It felt off. being a fan of RY's and having lived in CO, it's cool (and a relief) to see how her writing style has grown over the years (and the description of her MMC remains the same bc of her hubby which I adore), and to see so many CO colleges listed I knew about. Also learned more about military life, knowing she was writing these while waiting for her husband to return from deployment made the death of her dad storyline all the more real. I liked Gus, the bro, the most.
