Dark Mafia Prince by Annika Martin

5.0

If you have ever read Annika Martin's Taken by the kinky Bank Robbers series, you know she is an extremely talented writer. She writes suspense and intrigue with steamy sex like no one can. You could cut her sexual tension with a chain saw.

What I didn't expect, and I am not sure why I didn't, was the emotional upheaval. Dark Mafia Prince called to me because mafia. Hello, it says mafia in the title and I'm there. I expected the quirky humor and randy fun. Not in this book.

Just wow. It is dark and dirty but in a most delicious way. Annika doesn't disappoint. The story line is intense. The characters truly bleed. You feel it. Oh, and the sexual tension is hot as hell.

Oh! You probably want to know about the storyline, huh?

Aleksio is a disenchanted mafia prince. Disenchanted because he watched the brutal murder of his parents by a trusted friend. He watched his brothers being stolen. He was hunted like a rabid animal. All of this tragedy at the tender age of 9. So, yeah, a bit disenchanted.

Mira is a mafia princess. She plays the role when forced but hides in plain sight across the country when no one is looking. Usually no one is looking...

When Mira is caught in the webs of Aleksio's plans, she isn't sure what is happening. Too soon her reality is ripped away. Questions form, self preservation kicks in, and she needs to know. What is she really made of? What will the truth bring?

It is obvious (from the note in the beginning of the arc- ok at the end too) that this will be a new series for Martin. I will be at her Amazon,Goodreads, Facebook, and website begging for the next one.
