The topic and content of this book is so important, and timely; but, it seemed like a lot of information was thrown out in a bit of a haphazard way. I did not love the format, I found it hard to follow the narration at times, and the layout was very distracting and discordant. I did like the inclusion of photos and other primary source documents and bits of history, but it was more jarring than smoothly done for me. If I, as an adult reader found it distracting and hard to follow, I wonder how middle-grade readers fared.
