I liked this book a lot. It was super engaging, and I kind of lost track of time while reading it. I started after breakfast, and by the time I realized I needed to get something quick to eat, it was already 2pm?

I'm telling you, it was dark yet so good, and I was completely engrossed. There was humor, suspense, mystery, and of course, some emotional moments. But then the ending came... and god, why? It was so anticlimactic. After everything she had been through, it had to end like that? All the character development that occurred throughout the book suddenly washed down the drain. I was slightly frustrated with the author's decision to make such a huge U-turn at the end. Why, oh why? You probably need to pick this one up just to know what I'm talking about.

Overall, it was certainly a disturbing read, but the ending was far from satisfying. That being said, I strongly encourage you to read this - it's not your typical mystery book. Just be mindful of the trigger warnings: pedophilia, child abuse, imprisonment, and Stockholm syndrome.
