I had really high hopes for this book but was unfortunately let down quite a bit. Mostly it bothers me how much queer baiting and weird kissing tropes that were found throughout it. I almost DNF’d but am glad I did finish as the final chapters were by far the strongest & more interesting. I will say the imagery, as well as the magic system, were both the best part of the entire book and carried the entire thing.
