What We Owe the Future by William MacAskill

5.0

I learned a lot and think differently about the future now. Lots of great stuff in here. I think everyone should read this book, so we can be more intentional with our actions and informed about our position in the timeline of this planet/universe.
It seems like the current generations and their actions are extremely important for the coming thousands of years. Let's see how we will do!

The book is a little bit like Yuval Noah Harari's books, just better. I find this way more relatable and relevant. The questions William MacAskill asks are fascinating and made me think a lot about values and moral philosophy. I found this book very accessible for people who do not think about ethics and "what is right to do" all the time.
Because all of this is new to me, it also felt sensational and like fiction. Crazy.
