I really enjoyed this book. It was engaging, memorable, and challenging, without being smarter-than-thou in tone. When my ego felt tender from me not being as well-read as the protagonist, all I had to do was take a good look at her naivete. Pessl did an excellent job fleshing out eccentric and almost living characters (not always an easy thing to do). I felt as though I could almost sit in the library and roll my eyes during a discussion with Gareth or cock my head and give a half-smirk at Blue and her awkwardness.

The one thing I was less than in love with, but I get and can live with however uncomforatbly, was the lack of a "here is how it all fits together" ending. Was she Catherine Baker or not? Where the hell did Gareth go? Did Andreo fit in anywhere or was he really a red herring? I kind of feel dumb and bumbling and, damn you, Pessl doesn't fan out the answers. The reader is left pondering it. The nerve! Ha!

I would most definitely read from this author again.
