A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

I’m used to romance and smutty books but now I look back at little old naive me and understand why the fantasy universe is so strong - why the Sarah J. Maas world is so strong. The writing is incredibly detailed in the introduction of new faces and worlds, the organization and strategy of war, the depths of multiple battles, and within the dialogue in general. The characters are beautifully developed with the willingness to sacrifice both pieces of their souls and the entirety of themselves to protect and those they love and the place they live. So much is jammed into this book that I was surprised when I remembered where it started and how far they came. So good!!
