A Light So Lovely: The Spiritual Legacy of Madeleine L'Engle, Author of A Wrinkle in Time by Sarah Arthur

5.0

A Portrait of a Woman of Deep, Sacramental Faith

I could not put this book down. This is a loving but honest tribute to L'Engle and the intense Christian spirituality that permeates her writings, both fictional and autobiographical. I was struck by the portrayal of L'Engle 's deep sense of sacramentality present in all of life - an openness to the possibilities of the "both-and" dialectic that finds good in the midst of evil and joy in the heart of sorrow. It made me want to read L'Engle's journals and writings and her books for adults, as well as to revisit the "Wrinkle in Time" quintet.
