Despite many people not favouring the book to the movie, I actually quite enjoyed the book. Usually I try to detach from my expectations as I know this can only lead to disappointment, hence I found the book cute, light and enjoyable. Although I did find Sally’s character to be lacking, and Sandra Bullock was fantastic in the movie. I loved the vibe of the book and how the author described mundane things, making it somewhat magical. I also found enjoyment in getting to know Antonia and Kylie a bit better.
