I left only the epilogue to finish today. And then, I cried. I made it through the whole book without crying…but at the end…wow.
Suleika’s journey was so hard. Her pain was described in raw, heartbreaking detail. I saw the tragedy of my dad’s cancer in her story. I found myself wishing a close friend who battled cancer had been as careful in following her doctor’s advice as Suleika was. I saw someone who did everything humanly possible to recover.
I loved reading Part Two, a really different kind of journey. Scary, but wonderful. She is so brave.
This fiction fan is slowly being won over to memoirs
