Woodsqueer: Crafting a Sustainable Rural Life by Gretchen Legler

emotional reflective slow-paced

"'I think I'd go a little soft in the head if it was me, you know. I'd go… what was it they used to call people who'd been in the woods too long?' She paused, and then suddenly recalled the term: 'Woodsqueer!'
This is a memoir by a Woodsqueer queer in the woods 😆 I love a good gay memoir, and this one presented some challenging (for me) takes on infidelity. I struggle with black and white thinking so the nuances about cheating definitely provided my brain something to knock up against, very interesting. I enjoyed the chapters about the goats and the look into Gretchen's family/upbringing, I just think there was a lot of story trying to cram itself into one book. It's a hard balance to strike with memoir, I won't pretend it's easy! Three taters 🥔🥔🥔/🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔
