Here’s a thing about me: I am so glad to be able to review this book, because that means I finally finished it. And I am confidently giving this a rating of 2.5 stars.
Conceptually, this novel was pretty promising. The writing, however, was so completely contrived, either too amateurish or too lazy to make a great story. I’m inclined to go with amateurish seeing as how the language was all over the place. The plot, too, was all over the place. The characterization was all over the place. The timing, especially for the reveals, was absolutely awful. The book was written so poorly that it was hard to get through, but I made myself do it regardless, because I’d gotten more than halfway through and I wanted to be able to fully justify my dislike of the writing style. Overall, I’m just really disappointed by this book, which sucks.
This will make a really good Netflix series, but until then, this is all I really have to say.
