This was a really good book and I'm glad I downloaded it now. Kayli was an interesting character and the author demonstrated her defiance of stereotypes and created a group of guys that took her under their wing without underestimating her abilities, despite how much she seemed to think that was the case. She was determined, yet full of self-doubt she had to overcome and, by the end, she's struggling with this still. It wasn't a quick fix and she's definitely not perfect - I would draw into question how she seems to be leading every guy on without a second thought. It's not even referred to that she thinks, maybe, in four days she shouldn't have been making out with a different guy. I mean, four whole characters in less than a week, most of them close friends. She has 'a connection' with all of them, which seems to mean she's ridiculously attracted to all of them and puts no effort into avoiding the attraction. It's hard not to be judgemental when she doesn't even question how she may be hurting these guys until near the end, where Raven seems to think they have something going on and she's not sure whether he seriously believes that, or whether he's joking. Even then, she doesn't say anything because they are conveniently interrupted. I'm only waiting to find out that Corey isn't gay after all. I can see why Kevin is a bit annoyed! Although, when they first met, even he seemed drawn to her - the whole staring into her eyes thing was a bit strange, considering she's just a girl by a trash can and he has a girlfriend he seems to love. Also, Kevin didn't seem to do much. He was a notably absent part of the team. He was there for the beginning and it seemed like he would play more of a part having been her first target, but then he disappears with his girlfriend for 95% of the book and you know next to nothing about him, other than the fact he doesn't think Kayli should be with them - Who knows, maybe because he's unnaturally drawn to her to. Perhaps she's a succubus, just guessing!? No? Oh, fine.
Despite all these complaints, I was captured by the plot and whizzed through the book in a day. I'm now deciding whether to pay for the sequel or call it quits! Yes, or no?! Help!
