A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

5.0

Edit: it’s been a few weeks since I read this and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. Despite how depressing most of this is, I keep finding myself reflecting on the positive moments and I don’t think one side could exist without the other and still be as meaningful.

This is the most difficult book I’ve ever read in terms of content and I don’t think a day will go by where I don’t think of these characters and the way I’ve cried over them. This book was so mean and beautiful and devastating and extraordinary.  If you’re reading reviews to find out if you want to read this book PLEASE read the trigger warnings because no book is worth jeopardizing up your mental health.
