Alone on a Wide Wide Sea by Michael Morpurgo

5.0

A beautiful book, placing themes of loss that everyone can relate to in an interesting narrative. I particularly loved the part where they lived at Auntie Megs, what a brilliant place for children to grow up (although not perfect, adding a bit of realism to the otherwise almost Utopian feel to that part of the story). Although it could be considered cliche, the ending was sweet and you'd grown to love Arthur so much you were desperate for a happy ending. And that's what you got.
