There are no halves, it’s a full 5-star.

I hope I never outgrow this story. I was not expecting to love it more than the two previous times I read it, but I did. This book is so beautifully crafted… From the great characterisation and consistent pacing; to the perfect linear plot punctuated by the occasional flashback and the many themes that can be the object of discussion... A YA masterpiece.

I cannot wait to reread Crooked Kingdom, as it already was as close to perfect as a book can get in my eyes.

Bring it, season 2!

Gaaaaaaaaah.

Still a solid 4.5 stars that deserves rounding up to 5 stars for the rich plot, writing and characters. Why not 5 full stars you might ask? I don't really know.

The writing was outstanding. Coming from a reread of the Shadow and Bone trilogy, you can really feel Leigh Bardugo's growth as a writer. What a queen.
