This book is truly an emotional journey.

I think there are parts that could’ve been shorter and still had the same impact (the steps leading up to finding Aelin or the fight at Orynth when they were going to die at every turn).

Granted with all the surprises, it had to be somewhat spread out.

There were so many heartbreaking events in this book and I think a lot of amazing scenes that showed character growth and healing.

I love that Yrene was able to take down Erawen - it was a joint battle with everyone not all on Aelin.

Dorian finding out that Dorian was literally his father’s name plus his father getting to atone is amazing.

Also fuck the gods, literally they suck ass. I’m glad Aelin didn’t lose all her powers completely.

Seeing everyone rallying together and the hope for a better future was really fun to read, I also enjoyed after the battle with Aelin getting to thank everyone.

I think this book  was good at pulling you into the scenes and making you realize just how lucky they were with timings or making you feel despair over the situation at Orynth. Whatever SJM wanted me to feel, that’s what I was feeling.
