I re-read this book prior to starting "The Next Person you Meet in Heaven". It had been 15 years since I initially read this book - I remembered the story, but that didn't make it any less sweet. It is a good reminder how we are all connected in someway - "That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. that you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind." A reminder that we are all the protagonist in our story, but that others are the protagonist of their stories, "Take one story, viewed from two different angles. It is the same day, the same moment, but one angle ends happily...and the other ends badly..."

This is not the first Mitch Albom that I have read a second time. When reading one book a second time, I didn't realize it until about a quarter of a way in, but continued because they always have a uplifting message to share - which we could use more of these days.
