Finally. Goddamn getting through this book was a chore. Okay so I don’t feel right giving this book a rating because I think the problem might have been me and not the book. It took me over half a month to get through it and it was the first book that I started during the reading slump I am currently in. So I’m having a difficult time differentiating whether the problem was me or the book. So I quite enjoyed the first 1/3rd of the book but idk what happened after that but the rest of the book took me more than two weeks to finish. It just felt slow and was dragging. The characters weren’t as enjoyable to read about after that point and it just felt as though the plot was being elongated for the purpose of making this a whole book. However by this point I was reading sporadically and this book just couldn’t keep me hooked anymore. Maybe it was just to contemporary and so couldn’t get me out of my slump so I couldn’t ac enjoy the book. Idk. Rn I would give this book 2.5/3 stars, but I feel that that would be unfair to the author bc I wasn’t in the right mindset to read this book when I did which has most likely swayed my opinion of the book.
