I want to give this a million stars. It's beautifully illustrated and feels like a very special book from the cover to the last page - you don't often find young chapter books with a black cover and a striking amount of RED.
But the story... you think you are getting one thing, then it tricks you and tricks you again in a way that makes you smile. And then want to hide it for yourself and also buy a copy for your best friend.
Get this for the kid in your life who likes witches, surprises, and scary stuff. Or get it for yourself because you wish you had it when you were 6yo.
