The High Mountain Court by A.K. Mulford

This started strong but quickly began losing me when the romantic tension skipped 5 steps at the 13% mark. After that, everything was over the top dramatic.

The worst part was learning that the big plot twist was being kept secret by none other than our main pov character Remy the entire time. Was it a clever idea? Sure. Was it handled well? Absolutely not. Even though I saw it coming, it had nothing to do with anything Remy thought or did, which is exactly the problem. All clues came from the outside characters.

Decent world-building and I’m almost interested enough to see how things turned out, but not if the rest of the romance plot lines are going to be like that. I’m not at all interested in going through that again with the new pov characters.
