The DC Comics New 52 line had its successes and failures. Doomed illustrates the company's ability to blend story lines that help make its universe cohesive. It illustrates the need for Superman to trust his friends even more than the world trusts him, as they band together when he is taken over by the Doomsday virus shortly after defeating the behemoth. however, the question always arises: who sent Doomsday? The answer engulfs the entire planet in a struggle to save itself. Heroes depend upon each other; enemies find themselves allies. Strength and unity are tested, and amid all of this, Superman fights for his life, his soul, and the souls of the entire planet.
