The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Wow, what a strange and dark book. I liked it a lot because it always had me guessing and wanting to read more but I didn't love it like everyone was saying. Everything about this book was believable but made you think at the same time. It was a longer book but I liked how the book had shorter chapters but then longer to kind of go with what was going on in the story.

Mara was a little crazy but I think all teens could relate to her in some way or form. Some parts of the book I felt bad for her but sometimes I was like oh no, something is going to happen and it is probably not going to be good for her and the other person. I liked Noah but I didn't love him. I didn't like how they were "destined" to be together and how he heard her when she was in Rhode Island.

The ending had me saying "what?" so I totally wanted to read on in the series. I like when the first book in a series ends like that because I really want to read on into the series.

I love the cover and now I totally get why they did it the way they did.

Best quote of the book: "I twisted my arms to curl him behind me and he unfolded there, the two of us snuggled like quotation marks in his room full of words."
