Pushing the Limits
by Katie McGarry
Taherah Abbas
Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry is a WONDERFUL AND AMAZING contemporary read
Caitlyn Crowe
IT WAS SO EMOTIONAL TOO
Taherah Abbas
OMG YES WITH ECHO AND HER MOM AND NOAH AND HIS BROTHERS
Caitlyn Crowe
AND ECHO WITH ASHLEY AND HER DAD AND NOAH AND THE PSYCHOPATHIC MEMORY LOSS
Taherah Abbas
nods It was a lot to take in but it was written so well
Caitlyn Crowe
I love the way Katie McGarry makes characters so broken that they are the perfect fits for each other....(did that make sense...it was nice and poetic and made sense in my head....)
Taherah Abbas
It was nice and poetic typed too. But yes I totally understand. It was also kinda of nice to see a more broken heroine (there are many of them but not if there's a broken hero) in this book and how they both served each other as their rock
Caitlyn Crowe
They were both just so fucked up (I know curse words, sorry) and in a different way than each other and how others thought they were
Taherah Abbas
They were I felt really bad for them and I love how easily we were able to connect to both Echo and Noah (2 VERY awesome character names if I may add)
Caitlyn Crowe
They were both so love-able and deserved so much love thats part of what broke my heart the most AND what made hem so special and perfect for each other. It broke my heart seeing two amazing wonderful people go unloved or without all the love they deserved but at the same time they ended up giving that love...to each other
Taherah Abbas
That was wonderfully said. You basically summarized the book in a totally vague but not kind of way. I also loved the way Echo's love for art was shown too
Caitlyn Crowe
Thanks, I try. I love all the artwork that Echo does AND OMG THE DRAWING OF HIS MOM AND DAD DIES
Taherah Abbas
Love how passionate she is and how Katie McGarry shows it as Echo's escape and journal at times
Caitlyn Crowe
You know what I hate though?? And I didn't notice it till the last time I read it but still...
Taherah Abbas
What??
Caitlyn Crowe
How fixated everyone, including Echo is at her being "normal" again. Like SHIT she is NEVER going to be normal again! Her mother attacked her, her dad left her for dead AND SHE CANT REMEMBER ANY OF IT!!!! Along with that Aires is gone and Ashley is having a kid and going around saying fucked up shit like irritatingly high girlish voice"Oh Echo, you're going to have a brother again" stops and yells like the usual insane person I am NO! NO!! Just, just. NO.
Taherah Abbas
Argh yeah. Really didn;t like the way her dad or Ashley handled things with Echo and I don't think I could ever forgive my dad if I was in Echo's place
Caitlyn Crowe
I would have probably just up and left. I would have said "I'm leaving, don't follow me. If you call the cops I will do something to get myself in jail to get away from you." Because that was not cool, and I get it they're in love and everybody makes mistakes blah blah blah but they soooooooo could have handled it better. So could Carrie and Joe for that matter but theirs was much less severe and they admitted to it
Taherah Abbas
Oooh yes it was just a jumble of miscommunication >.>
Caitlyn Crowe
And her mom never apologized and ugh, just ugh
Taherah Abbas
Her mom was just ANNOYING. Unstable I know but STILL
Caitlyn Crowe
She had been stable for two years at that point
Taherah Abbas
If she chose not to apologize for what she did then definitely unstable even then
Caitlyn Crowe
I guess
Taherah Abbas
NOAH'S BROTHERS ARE ADORABLE
Caitlyn Crowe
AND THE STORY THAT JACOB MADE ABOUT NOAH BREAKS MY HEART EVERY TIME
Taherah Abbas
OMG THAT WAS SO CUTE AND WHEN HE SAID MY HERO DEAD
Caitlyn Crowe
OH AND WHEN HE RAN TO GO HUG NOAH AH
Taherah Abbas
CUTEST MOMENT EVER. Love their relationship so much!
Caitlyn Crowe
I loved it when Tyler finally said he loved Noah UUHHH
Taherah Abbas
OHOHOH AND THAT THERAPIST WHOSE NAME I HAVE FORGOTTEN=AWESOMESAUCE CHARACTER
Caitlyn Crowe
Mrs. Collins is the BOMB
Taherah Abbas
She was my favorite and most reasonable adult in the book
Caitlyn Crowe
She really was the only reasonable adult in the book
Taherah Abbas
