I actually enjoyed this book even more than Girl, Wash Your Face. I appreciate that while the author outlined concrete steps to accomplish goals, she was honest about the amount of sacrifice it took and continues to take to be where she’s at in life.

So many of us, myself included, get caught up in what women/moms are supposed to “be” and “do.” I appreciate her no nonsense approach on mom guilt and the societal approval of men v. women working hard to accomplish their goals. The reality is that if you’re a working mom who’s busting ass to keep the family afloat financially, that is celebrated and inspiring. If you are working for fulfillment, it’s open season to question your priorities. This was life changing for me. I can work just because I love it and STILL BE A GOOD MOM. Seriously, a weight was lifted.

I loved how open she was about all of the help she receives to make her business and family function. It’s filled with practical advice to start making small changes to become the version of yourself that you want to be. So many of us need permission to Stop Apologizing for wanting more, taking up space, having opinions, working towards dreams! It even helped me to recognize how my fear was standing in the way of my husband realizing some of his dreams. We did one of the activities together and found that our ten year versions of ourselves/our lives were pretty much the same. We decided to make some positive changes now to accomplish that type of lifestyle.
