(4.5) This book gets a lot of hype but I was not disappointed!! Worst part: I have to wait for the next books ughh.
Some things I loved: our main character Bree and her development, the writing, the plot/the end! I also thought that it dealt with some serious issues about race really well, I wish I had read something like this when I was younger. And it has a good amount of diversity.
I will say as far as the world building goes, it gets kind of confusing, I wish I had taken notes honestly. But that didn’t bother me too much because I think the confusion was also largely due to the mystery.
I also wasn’t super into the romance, but I’m not a big romance person in general. I am interested to see how it plays out in the next book(s).
