Hollow Bones by Erica Wright

5.0

"Hollow Bones" is a gripping gothic 'who dunit' crime novel with an environmental bent. I appreciated the suspense and the sympathetic and compassionate viewpoint that the main character, Essa, displayed toward the snakes who suffered cruelty in their captivity and their exploitation in the fundamentalist cult of her parents. Fans of "Where the Crawdads Sing" will appreciate the similarities in Essa and the main character, Kya, from Crawdads. All of the characters in "Hollow Bones" are memorable and beautifully drawn.
