absolutely fantastic. loved convenience store woman and almost screamed when i saw this in my local library. it definitely didn’t disappoint!
the way sayaka murata writes in this book is disturbingly brilliant. i couldn’t put it down, but i’m pretty sure if i tried to relay you the plot i’d sound high. forces you to think about society and how it shuts out anyone who doesn’t follow its rules which, i’m realising as i write this, might be a theme in murata’s work.
please read it (if you’ve read the trigger list, because it’d be a lot for someone sensitive to abuse and assault and incest and murder and—)!
