🎧 Code Talkers by Chester Nez
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

I chose this book as part of the Decolonize Your Bookshelf challenge but it also fits in nicely with Native American Heritage Month. This is Chester Nez’s autobiography about being one of the original 29 Navajo Indians that made up the Code Talkers
During World War II. They invented and transmitted code based on the Navajo language that was never broken. Their code is credited with helping America win the war in the Pacific Theater. Nez
tells his life story, from his time as a child in an Indian boarding school, through the war, and on into old age. It was definitely an interesting listen. I recommend this one as an audiobook so that you can hear the Navajo language throughout the story. It dragged a bit on some parts, but overall a good story.
