The Titan's Curse
by Rick Riordan
Finally! The Percy-Jackson-book-writing-style I fell in love with, is BACK!!!! I read later books(one from camp half blood and other is staff of Serapis. IK it's messy but I read what I got ). So I was really surprised to see lightening thief's simple plot and never ending attack-fight loop. I read sea of monsters, it was slightly better, but not what I was after. I was glad to read this book because in this book Rick Riordan changed his tactics as a writer Tremendously. The concept is pretty much the same, fight monsters and save the gods. But this was better than the previous ones, because:
There was a lot of sarcasm going on
There was fighting , yes but also had a lot of backstories, and other subjects like friendship ,loyalty, love etc which added extra dimension to the story
Percy's transition as a teenager was enjoyable to read.
A ton of interesting characters were introduced. Apollo and Thalia were just * chef's kiss**
What I loved most about this book was not repeating things over and over. Previous books felt like they were pushing the protagonist against his will. (I know that's what heroes do, but it's still felt like they were making up unnecessary issues ) But this book felt different. Somehow everything made sense.
Oh I forgot to mention Dionysus. He really leveled up the game!
I missed Chiron. He seemed...distant.
