Starting out and lasting about the first half of this book I was extremely confused. I had no idea what was happening and when, since the chapter headers were not consistent, as Androma’s had no time stamp, the first chapter simply said “The Past”, and other characters’ said Year #, but gave absolutely nothing to go off of for reference, so this number had no meaning for placing it with the Marauders’ storyline since there was no year assigned to what I could only assume was presently happening. This made figuring out when this was all happening and whether it was all at the same time or before or after really difficult. I was only able to construct a relative timeline after about halfway through the book when the different characters started connecting. There were also multiple instances of expressing the thoughts and emotions of a character that was not currently the chapter POV identified at the start of the chapter, which was a bit off putting for me as there were all ready so many (possibly too many) to begin with. I was not a fan of this book at first, but really enjoyed the last quarter of it. Overall, I did not think that the writing was very good, but the story as a whole was interesting and I liked the characters. I think I would have enjoyed it more had the execution been better.
