really skimmed the last 20% of this because i couldn’t stand it anymore. probably a great book for pick-me farm girls who are into assholes i guess?
what a stupid “romance.” the characters literally have nothing in common besides growing up together? sure, makes sense that the entire book should be the woman fighting tooth and nail to get the man to just BE NICE to her. Jake is a dickhead who needs therapy and blames all of his problems on the people around him, including and especially Olivia for some reason. i would never let a man talk to me the way he talked to Olivia (minus the RANDOM lovey dovey scenes in the middle of the book that were supposed to get us to like Jake….. nah), let alone chase after his affection and beg for his trust (??), so this entire book was just overall incredibly annoying to read. Jake deserves nothing and Olivia deserves to go back to New York where she’s obviously happier. AND NOW FOR THE ONE TRUE SPOILER:
what is attractive about a man with too much pride to accept a $200,000 check that would save the farm he’s about to lose forever?? complete moron who honestly deserves to lose the farm for that, idc
