4 stars - It was really good

This novella continues Olivia and Atarian’s story with them heading to Helion to deal with the trial and announce their convergence. Unfortunately, things don’t work out as planned and Olivia finds herself fighting against the media by herself for their future.

Just like with the first book, I was instantly sucked into this book. From the very beginning, Olivia’s stay on Helion is filled with family, love, heartache, and of course danger. I loved Olivia in the first book but she really showed how resourceful and smart she was in this. We see her work alone to learn the technology, the hierarchy of the government, and learn how to be the Ambassador for the humans.

While I loved seeing how strong and resourceful Olivia was, I really hated the circumstances that led to it. I hated seeing Olivia and Atarian apart due to a fight, but at the same time it was expected since they are a new couple and arguments happen. I still wish we had seen more of them working together to deal with the issues though but hopefully we will see that in future books.

One of the great things about this book was meeting Atarian’s family and seeing new aliens. Atarian’s family was awesome and I really wish we got to see more of them. The new kinds of aliens were fascinating and I kind of wish we had gotten more descriptions for some of them but that might appear in future books. Overall, I loved that we got more of Atarian and Olivia and I look forward to seeing the next alien fall for a human.
