Green Light by Jescie Hall

2.0

I'd like to start by saying I have loved everything I've read from Jescie thus far. This book could have been a hit for me too, if we had gotten less of the introspective & repetitious monologuing and replaced that word count with a dual or alternating timeline. This book was heavy on the bully, moderate on the plot, and light on the romance. I could deal with less romance if the plot had been fleshed out more. We either needed a buildup of the past traumas or flashbacks, in order to connect us with all of the different plot points. Without it, it fell flat for me. It made it feel like we were only getting 40% of what was needed to hook us and the rest was missing.

My favorite parts were Josiah and Wheeter. Hell, I spent half the book hoping the whole "sharing" trope was going to be all of the housemates...together.

I hate that this didn't resonate with me but love that it does with others. I can't wait to see what Jescie delivers in the future!
