Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb

5.0

This book was so goddamm good.

It was purely great at parts but also enraging (in a good way) at parts too. Hobb is a writer who I think is amazing at pulling emotions out of her readers; there was a moment which I would call a 'shank and a twist' - gut wrenching but there were also moments that were extremely exciting. I really recommend this book.

The main character is undeniably interesting but what I enjoyed most was that all the characters all had some general depth to them, especially the side characters. The characters are rarely simple or flat and that is what made it so good to me!

Onwards to the Royal Assassin!

(Note: I recommend the illustrated editions!)
