"In this moment I understand precisely what might drive a person to become a cannibal, I want to eat him up."

Max & Luke...
The sunshine and the grump (kind of)
This was a good read, not my favorite but I made it through.

There are aspects of this book I enjoyed but then right after I didn't.
The trauma in this book is handled in the right way that it doesn't feel forced at all. The anxiety is spot on and how that plays into everything is so real life.
Max & Luke are what you hope for in the situation that happens in this book. Max needs a guiding light in a sense to pull him from the darkness that is threatening to swallow him every day.
Enter Luke.
Luke is the best sunshine character I have come across when needed. His golden retriever-ness is what made me love him from the start. His love for photography just added to it.

While I enjoyed reading I hated the abrupt end, I went through this with Book 1 and was not a fan.
This had a very blatant way it could end but it didn't. After what Max has gone through I would think it would be tied up at the end but alas we were left hanging.

This may be the authors way she likes to end books but this falls in the same realm as a cliffhanger to me, and I don't really like those because there is no closure to what could be a great ending.
