Such an odd yet enjoyable read. The writing was peculiar in the best ways possible, and I loved how the story progressed. I can definitely see why this book would not be considered good to some, but I enjoyed it for what it was!
I read it on my Kindle in about a day or two. The main character was yes, a major dumbass, but also had his own charm. While I do not know if it was intended, I see him as on the Autism spectrum. A lot of how I related to him dove back to that. This may have been completely on coincidence for the author, but I do think Goddard added a nice bit of representation. It was nice that it wasn’t named, and if the author had this in mind then props to him!
I had a love-hate relationship with this book. The ending was alright, but I do think it could have taken a different, more favorable route.
In conclusion, if you want your heart to break and be grossed out by very detailed sexual themes, read Hourglass by Keiran Goddard!
