Mind of Winter by Laura Kasischke

Yuck. The parts that weren't boring were gruesome. Holly and her whining, ooh, I'm so troubled, ooh, didn't I have a crap childhood, ooh, I want to write poems and I can't...
And while I don't need to be spoon-fed every detail, there was just too much foreshadowing that never got out of the shadows. What happened to the cat? What happened to Concordia (the erstwhile maid)?
Once I finished it, I understood why the narrator was like she was... She was bonkers, but by then I hated her too much to relate to her, so I didn't care.
Yuck.
