I liked the concept, but it kinda lost me when the cult vibes started to take over. It was hard to watch Julie continue to make poor decisions, especially where her aunt was involved, but I guess there wouldn’t have been much of a story without those mistakes.
The audiobook narrator was OK, but could have been better. I didn’t love the way she did dialogue, and I felt the inner dialogue she narrated often involved her putting way too much stress on the suspense aspect, which ended up negating the effect she was going for.
