I don’t even know where to start with this book. One of my favorite Booktok content creators recommended this I went in completely blind and I’m coming out dazed. Honestly I loved the beginning of the story although I had no idea what direction I was headed in I was constantly on the verge of DNFing or sticking it to the end. The gore was fine for me and I enjoyed it right until the last 12 pages, the end just felt outlandish and that says alot considering the themes of the book. I also didn’t like the portrayal of the black people, considering the author is white it felt degrading toward black people which made me uncomfortable. I’m not even sure what I want to rate this book but as I said I did enjoy it just not the parts I mentioned.
