I need to put Talia Hibbert on a pedestal asap!!
How can she write a trilogy where each book is a solid 5 stars, but somehow manage to make each one better than the one before? Only her!
Now truly, I was a bit scared I wouldn't like Act your age, Eve Brown. Simply because I was never drawn to Eve whenever she appeared in Dani and Chloe's books. She seemed like a side character that was hilarious but nothing more. Boy I was so wrong!! Eve became my favorite Brown sister. Her POV was so fucking funny. Not only that, but I loved how her mind works and how witty she is!! I had such a great time reading about her journey.
And also Jacob y'all!!!!! Besides not being convinced enough about Eve, I was not conviced about him either. Both Red and Zafir caught my attention from the beginning and I was so intrigued to get to know them, but that didn't happen with Jacob. I realized I'm not the biggest fan of grumpy-sunshine when he's also narrating, but Talia Hibbert once again proved me I don't really know myself. Because this man... THIS MAN!! Jacob might be grumpy and stiff asf, but that man was absolutely gone for Eve!! Talia Hibbert never fails to make the most obsessed and charismatic love interests who are so gone for their girl, so basically worship them, truly a gift!
I also loved how neurodivergency and the autism spectrum was handled here. I know stories where characters struggle with their neurodivergency and diagnostics are also important and they provide a different but essential view of this topic, but stories like this one, where neurodivergency is just a part the character's lives, not what defines them was so refreshing to see! I particularly loved how Eve found out she was autistic and how this little plot inside the story was written.
If you've been following my reviews, you probably know by now how much I HATE third-act breakups. But looks like it's something I'm gonna have to get used to, because Talia doesn't let them go lol
Somehow she makes me forget why I hate them so much. Her books are just so perfect that I can overlook the stuff I normaly deduct stars for.
Also let's talk about the spice!! Compared to the previous two books, Act your age Eve Brown definitely has fewer sex scenes, but wow! Talia knock it out of the park!! Gosh the few scenes were so so sexy and explicit, I had to pause a few times to process the things this man said. When I think she can't do better, she just proves me wrong!
The Brown Sisters hold such a special place in my heart and I can't believe it's over. I want more!! I appreciate this books so much and Talia has become my go-to author whenever I'm in the mood for the perfect romcom. Because that's what this was. Talia's humor is right up my alley, she made me died of laugther a lit of times, and also made me swoon with the things they thought about or said to each other.
