Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult

5.0

Another 5 star powerful read from Jodi Picoult! This is a really heavy story, one of race, hate and loss of life. When a baby dies in a hospital, ward supervisor Ruth finds herself in a tragic and unthinkable situation, by doing her job causes her to nearly lose everything and turns her whole world upside down. Small Great Things is a captivatingly difficult book to get through with such a powerful message of racism and hate. It provides an important message and one that more people should read.

I have seen a lot of mixed reviews regarding this book, however I found it eye opening and thought provoking. Jodi’s effortless writing style sends a strong message and 8 months later, I’m still thinking about this novel.
