Creepy Crayon!
by Aaron Reynolds
The title treatment is probably my favorite thus far, with the spot gloss and use of transparency. So spooky. The illustrations break its trend a little bit, and I feel like there was more color in this one, making the visual language feel less impactful. I like this book, but I think it's my least favorite of the three. The moral is definitely meant to be not to cheat, but I admit to thinking, "What's the problem?" I wouldn't mind that creepy crayon (don't tell your kids). I appreciated the nods to the other books. Very nice touch.
