Thought: Julie's sense of self preservation is eerily similar to Kate's.
Thought: I love that even though Kate struggles with the idea that someone could actually love her, she held out until she actually had a decent time to talk to Curren about it. Moments like that will keep me coming back to read and re read. Also, the Princess Bride references.

Having read a book set after the meat of this series involving a significant player in this series....I'm possibly lapping up his cameos far more than I would otherwise.
