The Crow Lord by J.M. Failde
5.0
J.M. Failde has now landed in my autobuy authors. After reading two of her books, this one and Where Did The Wind Go?, I can't get enough! But this review is about The Crow Lord.
Gothic dark romance about vampires, vampire manors, in a setting befitting Dracula and Castlevania? You know what I mean, those gritty dark worlds with tragic and grim tales centered around monsters and vampires. And somehow, managing to fit some sort of romance inside. Failde did all of that with this book, and threw in some spice and some bursts of wholesome.
I will say to be mindful of triggers with this book, there's SA especially in this. It's a dark romance, you should know what you sign up for for those kind of stories. I will also say, there's...I wouldn't say this is too big of a cliffhanger. It's setting up for the next book and it's definitely making me itch and wish the next book was already out to see what happens, but I feel satisfied with the story so far not to screech too badly haha! Maybe slightly.
I need more Lila and Ambrose, I need more Pollock the crow, I need more of this story in general. I love all the different characters (and absolutely despise the villains - which means, well written).
