As always, these books are not going to be for everyone as they are DARK, and the MMCs are beyond morally grey. Please keep that in mind and check the TW the author provides.
That being said, the plot lines BLOW MY MIND. I feel like I said OH MY GOD! twenty times as this one concluded. This whole world is complex and filled with layers, morally grey in all acts.
The FMC was really unexpected, and I feel like that is all I can really say about that. One of the things I love about this world is that the heroes have their traumas too. Often in books, it is the FMC being saved, but in the first two books of this standalone world they both need saved.
The ending. So good! My heart was in my throat and it was emotional and perfect for them!
Wondering about the steam? I will never ever look at paintbrushes the same again.
